The "Jennifer" chatbot was designed as a proof-of-principle AI system to learn if public information from reputable sources can be more quickly and effectively organized and shared. The information "Jennifer" provides is not medical advice.
The chatbot relies on a repository of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) gathered from reliable resources including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, the University of Washington Bothell, and Federation of American Scientist.
These FAQs are then curated by top medical experts on daily basis with updated information to existing questions and added FAQs learned by Jennifer from user interactions.
Jennifer currently supports questions in English with limited support to Spanish and Chinese.
We were able to build and deploy the version of Jennifer in less than a day by leveraging Juji (https://juji.io), a AI start-up that specializes in developing and packaging deep AI technologies in radically simple solutions with responsible and empathetic AI helpers.
