Nature’s Dangerous Decline ‘Unprecedented’ Species Extinction Rates ‘Accelerating’

The UN’s IPBES* Global Assessment, "Nature’s Dangerous Decline ‘Unprecedented’ Species Extinction Rates ‘Accelerating’" is available (https://www.ipbes.net/news/Media-Release-Global-Assessment).

This is the most comprehensive and authoritative assessment of nature and its contributions to people—ever.

The Assessment’s findings are compelling. Climate change is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to global environmental challenges. We’re on a pretty grim path, almost certain to miss many crucial global goals for sustainability and biodiversity, like feeding the world while protecting nature.

Turning this around is possible, however, it just means doing things differently. Among other changes, it means building a global sustainable economy.

You can play a role in helping make this happen, through your own actions, voting, and by signalling your intent through petitions like these.

Let’s call on governments, businesses, and other citizens to take seriously these challenges and transform the laws, policies, regulations, and economic structures that have yielded this environmental mess we find ourselves in: https://www.change.org/p/a-citizen-s-call-for-a-global-sustainable-economy
