Dr. Patricia Silveyra participated in the 2019 SACNAS National Diversity STEM Conference

New Voices’ member and co-chair Patricia Silveyra (UNC Chapel Hill) participated in the 2019 SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference. Silveyra, Associate Professor and Director of the Biobehavioral Laboratory at UNC, also serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of SACNAS – the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science.


SACNAS is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. The organization serves 7,000+ members and has 115 student and professional chapters throughout the United States. SACNAS influences a larger STEM community of 25,000+ through outreach, advocacy, and production of The National Diversity in STEM Conference.
